CRITERIA & GUIDELINES: CMCA’s Work of the Hand presents fine contemporary crafts. All work must be original in concept and design and created entirely by the submitting artist. While the majority of participating artists typically reside in Maine, CMCA will also accept submissions from artists outside the state.
JURORS: CMCA’s craft show committee, comprising of staff and past show organizers, will select the crafts people to contribute to this year’s show. One distinguished, outside crafts person will also serve on the selection panel. This year's craft juror is potter George Pearlman.

Delivery of work: Wednesday, October 8, 2008
Collectors’ Preview Evening: Friday, October 10, 5-8pm
Exhibition open to the public: Saturday, Oct. 11 thru Sunday Oct. 19, 2008
Pick up of work: Monday, October 20, 2008
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: To be considered for CMCA’s 2008 Work of the Hand – Crafts Show and Sale, please submit the following materials.
• This completed entry form. (download PDF here, or see below)
• A single compact disk (CD) of images.
The jury prefers digital submissions. (If you are unable to submit images in this format, we will also accept slides or photographs.) The CD should contain up to, but no more than 5 representative images. Images should be in a .jpeg format at a med-high resolution (ideally with the widest dimension not to exceed 1800 pixels, saved as RGB).
Please name the image files with the entry number corresponding with the list of works
on the entry form and your last name. For example: 1_Jones.jpg
• A current resume, not to exceed 4 pages. Please do not fold, staple, paperclip, or otherwise bind pages together. An artist’s statement of up to 150 words is optional, but highly recommended.
• A self-addressed, stamped envelope of appropriate size and padding for the return of images. Please note that while every attempt will be made to ensure the proper return of materials, CMCA cannot be responsible for loss or damage.
If selected, you will receive further instructions concerning exhibition procedures.
